Caroline is one of 50 top event riders competing in The NAF Virtual 5* Eventing Competition from 6-10 May 2020, when the famous Badminton Horse Trials would have taken place, but for Coronavirus lockdown.
She joins an all-star start-list including William Fox-Pitt, Boyd Martin, Gemma Tattersall and Laura Collett.
In recognition of all the National Health Service worker efforts to combat the virus during these unprecedented times, this fun competition will be livestreamed free and will raise money for NHS Charities Together.
Riders have been pre-recorded performing the Badminton 5* dressage test as well as taking part in specially orchestrated unmounted jumping and cross country phases and the resulting programmes will be shown over ‘Badminton weekend’.
Caroline performed the dressage test at home on Falko TH (aka Joey) the horse on whom she finished 7th on in the Blenheim 8/9 year old Championships last year.
“Joey has never done a 5 star test before so I have to admit it was quite a challenge. Badminton will be sorely missed by all riders and enthusiasts so we hope that this initiative will provide some entertaining viewing and raise money for such a pertinent cause,” comments Caroline.
“Joey loves to show off but sadly he won’t get the chance to do so for real until lockdown is over. There are still a few shares available in this talented horse when eventing restarts,” ends Caroline.
Anyone wishing to support the cause can sponsor any of the riders. Further details at virtualeventing.com
